Nintendo kicks off E3 early with new reveals
Nintendo started the flood of E3 news a little early today with some new announcements in their ‘Nintendo Direct’ presentation online.
The early announcement of some of these new features is likely to mean a bigger focus on games at their main E3 conference taking place on Tuesday. First was the official reveal of a new Wii U tablet controller complete with NFC and a TV remote function. Also revealed was a pro controller that many are calling a Xbox 360 look-alike and a some interesting social networking features. You should be paying closer attention to Unreal Engine 4
Unreal Engine 3 is the most prominent engine utilized in this generation of consoles. Unreal Engine 4 will likely follow suit and we are just starting to get glimpses at what it can do. UE4 is going to be extremely important in the next gen but unless you are really interested in shaders, lighting effects and particle physics there is no good reason to pay attention until you see a final product. Or is there?
Long before Gears of War was announced, Epic was showing off their new Unreal Engine 3. To show the power of this new engine they had to create some assets. You’ve read E3 predictions from just about every site by now. But what about predictions for E3 FIVE YEARS from now? (Or whenever the next-next console generation starts.) Let me explain.

‘Star Wars 1313’ announced
E3 is just 4 days away, so what better time to release a bunch of new info that right before the show everyone comes to to get new info. _Star Wars 1313_ was one of the games revealed on tonight’s GameTrailers TV. Geoff “Exclusive” Keighley revealed the new bounty hunter focused Star Wars game right out of the gate.
The game takes place on the metropolitan planet of Cotuscant and from the looks of it, is far removed from the tropes of Jedi vs. Sith that have been a detriment of recent Star Wars games. More info coming at E3 so stay tuned.
